The performance work #ClayGains! was commissioned for Airspace gallery's Social Substance performance programme, which were responses to the William Cobbing's solo exhibiton in the space and Cobbing's use of clay in their practice. The performance draws upon Jake's wider practice, concerned with debunking ideas of fitness, work and exercise. Jake performed a typical leg day workout, using lumps of clay as the weight.
